School clubs have started this year with a whole new dedication to commitment that I have to admire. With Beta Club, Student Council, National Honors Society, Academic Challenge, and Chamber Choir all having practices, meetings and rehearsals, it’s hard to keep up. Can you believe I sometimes think I can do a sport?
Hello Jackets! It’s me, Landon Bryson, writing to you with the sickening feeling that this is going to be the hardest year of high school yet. I went into high school knowing junior year would be rough. I haven’t been wrong yet.
I guess it’s time that I rant about clubs. Let’s start with Student Council.
Student Council has already kicked off the year with the oncoming elections. They have an interest meeting Monday, and a members meeting Tuesday, where they will discuss things such as homecoming, (that includes pep rally and dance), Powderpuff, and other various activities. Students, show up to the meetings, and everyone, show up to most or all events.
BHS chorus and theater director Kaitlyn Hayward is hosting this year’s fall play, Almost, Maine. There is an important announcement that comes with this; You do not have to be a singer to be in the play. There is no singing whatsoever in this production, only acting.
The play is a humorous perspective on what it means to love or lose love, with a few scenes featuring different characters going through different situations. It’s a fun way to make old people reflect on their high school years. Anyways, auditions are next week during Flex. Sign up and have a good time trying out!
A chorus fundraiser is also underway. Last year, we sold sodas of different kinds, both regular and dirty sodas. We will be selling those from September 21 to September 25. Come by and enjoy a cheap but tasty drink.
Well, that’s it for this week. I’m sorry I couldn’t be more entertaining, but this was just one of many status updates I have to type up, and I’m so exhausted. Blame the life we’re all victims of. Anyways, until next time, it’s your favorite blind Jacket!
